This website introduces Ant Lihlx Lax’yip – Guardians of the Land, an Indigenous-led initiative by Wilps ‘Wii K’aax of the Gitxsan Nation to declare and steward an Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area (IPCA) across three key watersheds in their sovereign, unceded territories. Guided by the Gitxsan legal system (Ayookw) and the principle of Gwalx Yee’insxw, an ancestral law of inheritance and responsibility, the site shares their vision to protect their lands, waters, and cultural heritage for future generations through a self-determined stewardship approach. It invites visitors to learn more and stand in solidarity with their efforts toward sovereignty, healing, and conservation.
