For as long as Kieran Johnson can remember, she’s been learning from Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall. The Eskasoni-based conservationist, a distant relative of Marshall, recalls many gatherings and family events hearing him talk of conservation, the value of nature and Two-Eyed Seeing — his concept of balancing traditional Indigenous knowledge with contemporary science.
