This report provides an analysis of “ICCAs” or “territories of life” at a local-to-global scale that are conserves by local communities and Indigenous peoples. The report emphasizes that local communities and Indigenous peoples contribute to diversity of life on Earth through differing cultural practices and governance systems. Using spatial analysis, the report highlights the likely area of the planet that is conserved by Indigenous peoples and local communities.
