In 2020, the UN announced that the world hasn’t met conservation targets in the past decade.. But it’s not too late. There is still a window of time to stem the tide of biodiversity loss, and we know what works: studies show lands managed by Indigenous Peoples tend to be healthier. In Canada the biggest, boldest conservation measures to protect the Boreal Forest are being put forth by Indigenous Nations. It’s time to support and scale up this work. For the health of the entire planet.
