
This article highlights how the Inuit community of Taloyoak, Nunavut, is working to establish the Aqviqtuuq Inuit Protected and Conserved Area (IPCA) to safeguard their land, culture, and way of life. Rooted in Inuit knowledge, the proposed IPCA would protect vital wildlife habitats while supporting a community-driven social economy based on traditional harvesting, food sovereignty, and land-based employment.
