This report outlines the Kaska Dena Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area (KIPCA) in British Columbia, a 40,000 km² region central to Kaska cultural and ecological well-being. It highlights the need to protect intact ecosystems, preserve traditional knowledge, and support a sustainable green economy. The KIPCA integrates existing land-use plans while balancing conservation with resource development, forestry, and tourism. Co-management with the BC government is emphasized to ensure Indigenous stewardship and legal recognition. The proposal seeks to protect biodiversity, cultural heritage, and Kaska rights while allowing sustainable land use.
