This report introduces the Deshkan Ziibi Conservation Impact Bond (DZCIB), a new financial model aimed at funding conservation efforts and restoring ecosystems. It focuses on the Carolinian Zone in southern Ontario and incorporates Indigenous perspectives on nature. The model connects investors, Indigenous communities, and conservation efforts to achieve ecological, social, and economic outcomes. The report also outlines the development, implementation, and early lessons learned from the pilot project.
