These reports offer a deeper understanding of the decisions, actions, and consequences that led to social and economic changes and their effects, including those still felt today. The nine special studies reports delve into subjects such as evolution and impacts of government healthcare programs, the quality and cost of housing, the imposition of an education system ignoring Inuit realities and culture, the killings of qimmiit (Inuit sled dogs), and the transformation of the region’s economy, amongst other themes.
