In the face of threats from climate change and biodiversity loss, Indigenous Peoples are leading successful conservation initiatives to help meet these challenges. Guardians of Our Future showcases three of these transformative initiatives around the world and the way they are creating a new model of conservation. From the Kaska Dena working to protect intact Boreal Forest, to the Bardi Jawi Rangers bringing traditional burning back to the landscape, and tribes along the Columbia River in the U.S. who are restoring native fish habitat – these stories show how Indigenous-led conservation benefits not only local communities, but all of us.
